If this is an emergency

Stop reading and call your local emergency number. In the EU dial 112, in the US dial 911. Care cannot help you and is not monitored by anyone.

Care is an educational tool. It exists to help you understand the range of ordinary explanations for something you are feeling, and to give you sharper questions to bring to a clinician. It is not a medical service, and using it does not create a doctor-patient relationship with anyone.

Every answer is machine-generated

The field answers and the summary in Care are produced by a large language model. No physician writes, reviews, or signs off on them. The model is told to answer from the angle of a given field, and it is good at sounding like one. That is a presentation choice, not a credential.

Language models state wrong things fluently. They can invent a mechanism, misjudge how common a condition is, miss the thing that actually matters, or contradict themselves between two cards answering the same question. Treat what you read as a starting point for a conversation, never as a finding.

What Care does not do

  • It does not diagnose. It lists possibilities that a given specialty would consider. Naming a possibility is not finding it.
  • It does not treat or prescribe. It will not tell you what to take, in what dose, or for how long.
  • It does not triage safely. It cannot see you, cannot take your vitals, and cannot tell an emergency from an inconvenience.
  • It does not know you. It sees what you type and the earlier questions of the same chat, nothing else: no medical record, no labs, no imaging, no family history unless you write it down.

Not a regulated medical device

Care has not been evaluated, cleared, approved, or certified by the FDA, the EMA, a notified body, or any other medical regulator. It is not intended for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of any disease or condition, and it must not be used as the basis for any medical decision.

Get real care

Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any question about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice, and never delay seeking it, because of something you read in Care. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
